We are no over 2 weeks into free agency and the last Celtic free agent is finally off the market as Marcus Morris Sr as finally found a home. Mook originally agreed to a 2 year $20 million deal with the San Antonio Spurs but then broke off that agreement to sign a 1 year deal worth $15 million with the New York Knicks. Morris was a key player for the Celtics this season appearing in 74 games and starting in 53. In his second season in Boston, the 29-year-old had arguably his best season as a pro as he set new career highs in field goal percentage, 44.7%, free throw percentage, 84.4%, and rebounds, 6.1 rpg. The thing the Celtics will miss most about Morris is his attitude. His hard-working and take no shit attitude is one of the things that helped the Celtics make their deep playoff run last year and despite all of this year’s drama Morris just kept quiet and kept playing hard. My favorite memory of Morris, of course, would have to be him screaming in Tristan Thompson’s face during the 2018 ECF.

Honestly, even with the departure of Al Horford, I’ll still miss Morris the most just because of his style of play and his attitude. In these past 2 seasons, he quieted his doubters who questioned if the Celtics gave up too much in Avery Bradley for him. Good luck in the big apple Mook and hopefully a big contract will come next offseason. Now let’s look back at some of his best Celtics highlights.

The Celtics also made one other roster move recently as they waived Guerschon Yabusele after 2 seasons with the team. Yabusele was the former 16th overall pick back in the 2016 draft and spent a year overseas before joining the Celtics in the 2017-18 season. In his 2 seasons with the Celtics Yabusele could never find regular minutes in Brd Stevens rotation as he played in just 74 games over his 2 years and started just 5 games. Now Yabu may have only averaged 6 minutes, 2 points and 1 rebound in his time with the Celtics but he did leave a lasting impact on us in one important way. With his trademark dab after a three.

Now I believe that Mike and Tommy now know what a dab is thanks to Yabu. Also, thanks for liking our birthday tweet to you Yabu best of luck on your future in the NBA.
